Trip Tours Madrid was founded in 2016 by José Hernández, a tour guide and the company’s founder, with a simple idea: to show visitors Madrid as seen through the eyes of someone who lives there, rather than as described in an encyclopaedia. Today we are a team of local guides – Madrileños by choice – whom travellers remember by name in their reviews. Maryvic Mujica, co-founder, oversees the logistics and the magic of every tour.

We are ranked No. 1 on TripAdvisor in Madrid amongst more than 1,200 businesses, have been named ‘Best of the Best’ for nine consecutive years (2017–2026), were in the Top 3 free tours in Europe in 2026, and have over 30,000 reviews. Our free tours cover Habsburg Madrid, Monumental Madrid, the Literary Quarter, Haunted Madrid, Medieval Madrid and the Civil War, in Spanish and English (the Habsburg tour is also available in Italian), with groups of up to 25 people. You’ll recognise us by our bright yellow umbrella. Booking is free; at the end of the tour, you’re asked to make a voluntary contribution per person.
