Discover the historic heart of Cologne in English
A place in TripAdvisor’s top 5 speaks for itself! Discover the secrets of the largest city on the Rhine during this free tour of Cologne’s must-see sights. The meeting point is by the steps next to the cathedral, just outside Cologne Central Station. Don’t confuse this with the cathedral’s main entrance – there isn’t one 😉 We’ll be standing there with our white and green umbrella, so you can spot us easily. From there, we’ll head to the Heinzelmännchenbrunnen fountain, named after a pair of curious gnomes said to be linked to the city of Cologne… mysterious, isn’t it? We’ll follow our route past more of the city’s iconic landmarks, such as the Town Hall, the Rheingarten – a park on the banks of the Rhine – and the Fischmarkt. A little further on, we’ll reach Haus Farina. Did you know this is one of Cologne’s most famous perfumeries? You can see this and much more on our essential walking tour of Cologne with The Walkings. And as an extra after the tour, you’ll receive handy tools to explore Cologne like a local: a map of public toilets, recommended places to eat, cash machines and even our personal ‘Black List’ — yes, those places we’d rather advise against 😉 All carefully curated to make your stay easier, more enjoyable and more authentic.
