Sheva’s original free walking tour is our signature Mostar experience, specially designed for travellers who want to see the city’s famous sights whilst gaining a deeper insight into its history and the people behind it. We start in the heart of Mostar’s UNESCO-protected old town and explore the cobbled streets, traditional architecture, historic crafts and the iconic Old Bridge, whilst discovering the cultures and communities that have shaped the city over the centuries. But the story of Mostar doesn’t end with the Old Bridge. During the tour, we go beyond the picture-postcard views and explore the events that have shaped modern Mostar. From the final decades of Ottoman rule and the city’s transformation under Austria-Hungary, we move on to the formation and break-up of Yugoslavia, the war of the 1990s, the reconstruction and the reality of life in Mostar today. Along the way, our local guides combine historical context with stories, observations and perspectives rooted in the city itself. We approach Mostar’s complex history with care, striving to provide context rather than simplistic narratives, whilst leaving plenty of room for questions and discussion. After around 2.5 hours, you will have experienced both the Mostar that visitors come to see and the Mostar that is harder to discover on your own – its history, culture, contradictions, resilience and everyday life. 💶 Price & booking: There is no fixed price. At the end of the tour you can tip your guide based on your experience (usually between €15 and €50). You can pay in cash in CZK or euros (banknotes only), or by card (💳).
