Description:
Explore Theresienstadt, originally a military fortress built in the 18th century by Emperor Joseph II, and learn about its role in World War II. Visit the Little Fortress, a former Gestapo prison, and the Ghetto Museum in the Great Fortress, which served as a collection camp for Jews and was used for Nazi propaganda.

 

♥ Discover the history of Theresienstadt, where 34,000 people died from disease and hunger.
♥ Learn about the 15 kilometers of underground tunnels that served as escape routes.
♥ Hear about the Great Fortress, originally home to 5,000 residents, which during the war became a ghetto for some 60,000 Jews.
♥ Visit the Theresienstadt National Cemetery, with 2,386 graves, and gain a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and World War II.

Details:
♥ The tour ends in Prague at the Letnany Metro station or if you wish to stay in Terezin at the Autobusové nádraží bus stop in Terezin.
♥ You can decide to stay in Terezin and then visit the Magdeburg barracks and crematorium. The guide can help you plan your transportation back to Prague.
♥ Make sure you are at the indicated meeting point well in advance. We use a bus to Terezin and this bus does not wait. So make sure you arrive at Letnany metro station (meeting point) no later than 10:15. So feel free to leave home 10 minutes earlier. We will not wait. Letnany metro station is a major transport hub, so a short search for our meeting point is not unusual. We do our best to be clearly visible.
